2008 is the year of the Renaissance. This year we celebrate not only the 550th anniversary of the coronation of Matthias Rex, but in broad terms also the Renaissance culture introduced by the great king, which widely spread after his reign. The festival evoked the renaissance joy of life: good food, fine wine, music and the bustling atmosphere of mediaeval markets. Additional programs: included applied arts fair, renaissance dress-show and performances held by the students of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and students of the Budapest College of Contemporary Dance, renaissance music concerts, flower fair, and the now traditional seasonal exhibits "Epoch - Flowers" and "Hidden Drawers and Compartments".
