HORSES IN THE CASTLE PARK

Gábor Miklós Szőke fine artist's exhibition

A sculpture composition of nine horses are int he park of the Castlemuseum Nagytétény. The sculptures are statues on their own. However, together they make a dynamic equastrian scene reflecting to the baroque spirituality. The directions defined by movements, the exaggerated intensive colours, the content and the irregular use of material have an important role.

Feast of the Centaur
Hidden drawers and compartments (exhibition)

This weekend is dedicated to the bronz statue of the Centaur standing in the garden. The park changes into the garden of ancient times with family fun activities.
Discover the garden of mytology and meet the Centaur and his pupil, Hercules!
Meet the blacksmith master, the basket maker, wood carver and create your own articles!

Enjoy the theatre performances and concert of antique music, try to play board games from ancient Rome! During the whole weekend a craftman fair of ancient trades, wine and honey fair, food and drink specialities of roman times will stage for the benefit of visitors. You can by all sorts of home-made honey, aroma oils, herbs and spices. Enjoy our fragrant garve of lemon orange and bay trees!

Some items in the Furniture Exhibition have really spectacular interiors. Only two times a year- during one weekend in May and September - visitors are able to see inside such magnificent pieces as - for example - Transylvanian tables from the 15th century, Spanish renaissance vargueños - writing-cabinets, flamish late renaissance cabinets, rococo writing-desks, and so on.

Christmas in the Castle - Christmas Colours, Shapes, Sounds, Flavours and Aromas

Come and visit the castle in December, and enjoy the scent and the beauty of pine-trees standing in the rooms of the castle: the furniture exhibition will feature Christmas trees festively decorated by famous Hungarian applied artists.

Weekend programmes for Advent and Christmas: fair for the purchase of gifts and Christmas tree decorations from applied artists; honey, herb tea and jam fair of the Monks of Bakonybél; roasted chestnuts and mulled wine, sweet-smelling strudel on the courtyard; concerts and performances for children on weekends.
